ANNUAL RUSJAN MEMORIAL LECTURE

The Slovenian Aerospace Medical Society (SAsMA) intiated this series of annual lectures to commemorate the Slovenian pioneer of aviation, Edvard Rusjan.

Lecturers are nominated primarily on the basis of their contribution to aviation medicine, but should also be pilots and play an active role in aviation science in general (for more information about SAsMA and Edvard Rusjan, please see www.sasma.szd.si).

 

This year's Annual Edvard Rusjan Memorial Lecture will be presented by Col. Jan Linder M.D., Command Flight Surgeon and head of the Aeromedical Centre in Stockholm (Sweden). Col Linder is also Chairman of the Swedish Aero-nautical Medical Association and Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Assocaition.

The title of his lecture is:
"THE PILOT IN THE MODERN MILITARY COCKPIT"

 

ANNUAL POTOCNIK MEMORIAL LECTURE

Lecturers are nominated primarily on the basis of their scientific contribution to aerospace medicine (for more information about SAsMA and Herman Potocnik, please see www.sasma.szd.si).

This year's Annual Herman Potocnik Memorial Lecture will be presented by Dr. Ola Eiken, Research Director of the Environmental Physiology Unit at FOI (Swedish Defence Research Agency) and head of the Aviation Medicine Laboratory at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm (Sweden).
The title of his lecture is:
"PRESSURE DISTENSION IN PERIPHERAL BLOOD VESSELS: IMPLICATIONS FOR AEROSPACE MEDICINE"
